Office Policy and Forms:
Appointments:
Appointments are typically one 50-minute session per week, although sometimes longer or more frequent sessions are arranged. Fifty minutes includes time spent paying fees, setting up future appointments, etc.
Contacting Me:
As I am typically in session with a client during business hours, and do not answer my phone while meeting with a client, please leave a voicemail when calling. I will make every effort to return phone calls within 24 hours except when you have been notified that I will be out of town or otherwise unavailable. If you feel that you cannot wait for a return call, please contact your family physician or the emergency room at the nearest hospital and ask for the psychologist or psychiatrist on call. If I am going to be unavailable for an extended period of time, I will let you know in advance and will, if requested, provide you with the name of a trusted colleague whom you can contact during my absence if necessary.
Confidentiality:
All information about our sessions (including the fact that you are or have been in therapy) will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with the Ethical Principles of the American Psychological Association. These guidelines require exception to confidentiality only under such extenuating circumstances as when a client expresses a serious intent to inflict life-threatening harm upon him/herself or someone else, or there is likelihood of some preventable abuse of a minor, an elderly person, or a disabled person. Should a situation of this nature occur, I will make every effort to discuss it with you before taking any action.
Scheduling The First Visit
Please call me to discuss insurance/payment, availability, to answer any questions you might have, and to make sure we are a good fit. I look forward to meeting with you.
